Nursery

A few weeks ago, Leslie's parents came to visit Dayton for a week. While they were there, Ryan, Leslie, Nancy and Jim all worked together to turn the office into a nursery. This involved a great amount of bookshelf moving and furniture adjusting, so it was such a blessing to have extra help.
Nancy, being the fantastic grandmother she already is, stood in long lines at a mega diaper sale in Rapid City at the hospital and brought three cases of diapers for her new grandbaby! Cooper was wanting very badly to open all of the packages to see what was inside, but we convinced him to wait.

We also painted the nursery Morning Sunshine Yellow, to make the nursery feel more cheery in the midst of Dayton's mostly very dreary, overcast days.

Once the painting was complete, we put together the crib. We encountered a bit of a snag in this process when Ryan realized only half of the hardware we needed was included from the family we bought the crib from. Luckily Ryan works at a machine shop and was able to fabricate the pieces we needed out of a material even stronger than the original steel.

During the crib assembly process, we got an unexpected delivery from FedEx- a beautiful, brand new crib mattress! This was great since we didn't have one yet! We were a little curious where it had come from since there was no clue of who it was from on the packing paperwork. Leslie was concerned she may have accidently bought one online in the midst of her online window shopping for the baby- one of her favorite passtimes. After interrogating several family members by phone we concluded it was from very excited Auntie Erin, Ryan's sister. What a great Christmas gift!

Hi Leslie. I just talked to you on the phone a half hour ago, but I just reviewed your blog and enjoyed it so much I just had to leave a comment. Leslie, you are so dear to me, and I thank you for the love you show me as well. I'm proud not only of your academic achievements, but also of how kind and loving you are to me and others. Get through Jan and Feb and then thoroughly enjoy your pregnancy and getting ready for your little one. Birkley told me today you'll need me at least two weeks, that was so cute. We'll make that happen. God bless you and Ryan and baby T forever! Mom
